Guitar Strumming Techniques Explained

Posted by hobersmith in February 8th 2010    No Comment

This release covers the most important skills a guitar player has to acquire in order to effectively play the rhythm. As it turns out technique is not that important and every guitar player should feel free to improvise his own movements which suits him best.

“Several guitar strumming techniques are available, but you should develop your own style. If you look at Al Di Meola, John Mclaughlin, Eric Clapton and other guitar masters you will notice they all have their own style. The easiest part to personalize is your strumming technique as it doesn’t have to be precise, and it doesn’t have to copy what is written in the rhythm pattern” Hober said.

The easiest way to keep the rhythm is by tapping your foot. Sometimes your position does not allow you to tap your foot easily. This means you are not comfortable and this obstacle will further hurt your guitar playing until you take care of it. A simple position is to cross your legs and hold the guitar on the right leg(if you’re right handed), this should ensure that your legs are relaxed and you do not have to stretch to reach the fretboard and the strings.

The more advanced guitar strumming techniques which every guitarist should master start with tapping your foot in counter-rhythm, or playing in counter-rhythm compared to the tapping of your foot. Generally this is hard to learn, but for some people it comes naturally. The biggest asset you gain from this technique is that you have a base for improvisation and it is easier for the listener to connect with what you are playing.

Traveling Overseas: Dos and Don’ts

Posted by uspremiu@gmail.com in February 8th 2010    No Comment

Planning an overseas trip and not sure of what to do and what to not do? Worry not, we’re here to help! We know that planning a trip abroad can be an exciting but challenging experience and can often best the most enthusiastic travelers. So, in order to help you out with your planning endeavors, we have compiled this list of things to do and not do while traveling abroad. You can use our list of tips or log onto any of the travel blogs run by Greg Shenkman to make the most of your trip.

Do
One of the first things you must do is keep all your travel documents together in a properly arranged manner. Before you move out of your house you should have all your papers in order and you should keep them in a safe place where you can access them easily without fear of misplacing them. Travel documents include your passport, a valid photo ID that has been approved of by the government of your country, your plane tickets and your boarding passes. It is also sensible to make photocopies of these documents and keep some with someone back home and keep a copy with you.

Don’t
Our next tip is that you should be careful not to over pack. Many of us get carried away while packing and often go overboard cramming in the most unneeded items. It is understandable wanting to be prepared for any eventuality but are you really going to need that evening gown or that bowtie on your travels! Pack smart and only put in what you need because even though you might not realize it right now, you’re not going to need more than some basic outfits and accessories. Once you reach your destination you will be more occupied with sightseeing and touring and will no doubt regret having to lug around heavy bags and crammed suitcases. If your travel involves moving from place to place you should definitely pack light and only take what you need.

Renting to Own – Is it a good idea?

Posted by Phil Boren in February 8th 2010    No Comment

This article deals with some of the issues and potential pitfalls of home sellers considering a rent-to-own scenario.  It is not intended to be legal advice, but if you consider some of these potential problems you may avoid a situation that will be much more trouble than it’s worth and may not have the outcome you intended.

For many years now, the thought of renting to own a home was rarely an issue.  In fact, in many real estate markets across the country, sellers could sell their home in such a short time that it was never a thought.  However, the changes we have seen in virtually every real estate market across the country have made this issue more common today and sellers considering it may want to think twice before diving in.  Despite what seems like at least a short-term solution to a home-seller’s problem of not being able to sell their home and move on, renting-to-own brings its own set of problems that many sellers don’t realize until it’s too late.

A buyer who proposes this scenario usually presents with a problem:  They love the home and want to buy, but because of some “minor” issue with employment verification, job history, credit misunderstanding, etc., they cannot get a loan right now.  They can, however, make the payments so they offer to rent while their “situation” gets cleared up.  The devil is in the details, though, and typically the deal involves fixing the price at the outset of the lease, the buyer/tenant has to give notice at some point during the lease that they intend to buy, and some or even all of their rent is applied toward the down payment.

What Is Reputation Management?

Posted by uspremiu@gmail.com in February 8th 2010    No Comment

Reputation management is a fairly new entity online. But there is every sign that it is becoming better known and used more and more as a way to combat negative publicity about a business.

Information has never been as widely available as it is now on the internet. But while this fact has its advantages, it can also damage a business if some of the information available turns out to be of a detrimental nature. There are two sides of the coin here – individuals will point to their right to free speech and blog about their bad experience with a company. But if the company does not know anything about this blog post, their business can be harmed without them even realizing it.

The good news if you have a business of your own is that reputation management companies are popping up all over the internet now. They differ in the ways that they tackle negative publicity, but all of them focus on one thing. Their aim is to fight back by constructing a well thought out campaign that enables them to effectively bury any negative comments that may be out there.

But how does this work if you cannot take away the detrimental effects that caused the problems in the first place? After all you cannot get a blogger to remove a blog post – they are perfectly entitled to say what they feel.

A common method is to focus on making significant progress in the search engines. For example, if a negative news story hits the first page of results on Google, these companies will aim to displace it. This is done by releasing fresh news of a positive nature. After a concerted campaign to improve the situation and publicity, it is often the case that a reputation management company can get those positive links onto the first page of the search engine.

Appreciating Motorbike Security

Posted by millclarke in February 8th 2010    No Comment

A vehicle is one of the most important purchases any individual can make.  It will be used for transportation, often on busy roads, and will need to be reliable to help ensure the safety of its driver or rider.  In addition to safety, reliability is essential to arriving at destinations on time, and avoiding inconvenience.  When the majority of bike owners think of keeping their vehicle on the roads, they think of maintenance as the most important factor.  Whilst this is the case, it is important not to forget motorbike security – in order to get to where you want to go, you need your bike to be there when you set out!

Motorcycles are appreciated both as road vehicles and as off road and racing machines.  There are numerous competitive sports involving bikes, each appealing to different people.  Whilst some most enjoy taking their bike for long cruises on the roads, others prefer to have special models for use on rough terrain or for motocross events.  Whatever your individual preference, and whether you prefer Harley Davidson or Yamaha, you will want to choose the most appropriate form of motorbike security to suit your needs.

As with other technology, motorbike security systems are constantly evolving to provide better protection.  Some security systems focus on preventing theft – locks, immobilisers and alarms are some of the more traditional methods applied to safeguarding vehicles, but over recent years new technologies have added to the bike owner’s armoury.  There are devices which send text messages to the rider’s mobile phone if a motorcycle is interfered with whilst parked out of sight.  Others allow for unique codes to be applied to individual parts of the bike, making it easier to track, and stolen vehicles easier to identify.  Tracking systems also help in this process, and are very useful considering a large number of stolen bikes are never recovered.

A Brief Overview on Small Business Insurance

Posted by mikejames221 in February 8th 2010    No Comment

Today’s SME’s have realized the importance of small business insurance, although there are still some that avoid recognizing its significance and practicality. Sometimes, SME owners think of this type of insurance as a mandatory nuisance that is out to take their profits. While it’s true that generating a positive revenue in today’s economy may be hard for some SME’s, this type of insurance can actually be considered as another form of investment that can provide financial protection for the business. By knowing its different characteristics and importance, an SME company will certainly understand all the benefits a company can get by having a small business insurance policy.

Typically, SME insurance commonly provides cover for full unintentional damage for buildings, business contents, furniture, equipment, and stored products. For practicality reasons, it is obvious that in the event that unforeseen circumstances happen, like fire or a random act of vandalism, the owner will have coverage that allows them to cover for the losses and have some financial assistance in rebuilding their business venture. This type of insurance can also provide cover for employer liability just in case an employee accidentally injures themselves while on duty.

Investing in small business insurance does not necessarily mean that your company has to pay for a particular coverage that has nothing to do with your business. SME insurance can be flexible in terms of meeting the requirements of its clients, and you can actually determine yourself how much of your stock you want to cover and up to what extent of coverage you want included in your policy. But, it is only important that you get the basic coverage plus other important extra coverage, which can really be an advantage for you in the future. Important coverage like fire, flood, vandalism, burglary, and accidental damage on the building caused by other factors not involving the owner or any of its employees are practical necessities for SME operators.

How to Shop for Your Dream Home in Our Current Economy

Posted by rew in February 8th 2010    No Comment

Many buyers are currently working to take advantage of low interest rates that are available for mortgages right now and shopping the real estate market in search of their dream homes. While this type of endeavour can be a great adventure, it’s always a good idea to have a clear idea of what you’re looking for in a home before you start your search. Never be in too much of a hurry to buy a new home; rushing into a decision with this big of a price tag can result in some long term grief.

First of all, make a list of the most important elements that you’re looking for in a home or property. Decide which ones are things that you can’t do without and which ones would be nice but aren’t a requirement. Four bedrooms might be a necessity but a home theatre wired room or a gym room might not be as important. Remember that an important necessity is affordability!

Determine what elements would make a home ideal for you and your family; remember that some wish list elements can be added to a home later with renovations. Your dream home might include a chef-quality kitchen, but that’s something that can be added later on. These types of features that can be added later are things that you can be flexible about when you are house hunting.
